Advancing that mission means expanding access to global learning, both financially as students prepare for their programs, and onsite when they are in a new country. For more than a decade, The Asia Institute has worked with organizations across the international education community to provide scholarship opportunities for students traditionally underrepresented in global education. As we enter a new academic year, we are excited to build on this work with an expanded portfolio of 2027 scholarships for students pursuing Asia-based study abroad programs. The Asia Institute is excited to announce a recommitment to our partnership with Community Colleges for International Development (CCID), while launching new scholarships with NAFSA Region III, the Florida Association of International Educators (FAIE), and the Michigan Association of International Educators (MAIE).

CCID Asia Scholarships — For students enrolled at CCID member institutions
FAIE Asia Scholarships — For students enrolled at Florida colleges and universities
MAIE Asia Scholarships — For students enrolled at Michigan colleges and universities
NAFSA Region III Asia Scholarships — For students enrolled at colleges and universities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas
The Asia Institute is committed to reducing barriers to study abroad and to expanding access to global learning in East and Southeast Asia. Importantly, each of these scholarship opportunities are open to eligible students planning to participate in any Asia-based study abroad program—not only students participating in programs supported by The Asia Institute. Chairman and CEO of The Asia Institute, Bradley A Feuling notes “Asia represents nearly 60 percent of the world population, however a relatively small number of American university students choose to study abroad in this part of the globe. Our goal, since our founding, has been to provide increased accessibility to Asia, recognizing that global education is no longer a luxury, but rather a necessity.

Supporting Students Before They Travel
The Asia Institute is also proud to have partnered with the Global Learning Collective member organizations and WorldKind to provide pre-departure training to all Fund for Education Abroad scholars.
