On October 8th, The Asia Institute will participate in a panel titled Multi-Dimensional COIL Models: Gaining Global Reach with Project-Based Learning at the AAC&U Conference on Global Learning. The Asia Institute’s Chairman/CEO Bradley A. Feuling will present new models for collaborative online international learning (COIL) related to the UN Sustainable Development goals, community-based projects, and local engagement in multiple countries.
This summer, The Asia Institute co-led an eight-week project-based (PBL) internship program in which nearly 60 students split into six groups representing projects that address the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia. In addition to company-assigned project work, the students enjoyed regular weekly contact with company hosts and academic mentors and participated in cross-cultural collaboration and reflection sessions.
